Professional experience
1994 to date Consultant organising language courses for companies. Work includes designing and marketing the courses, selecting and appointing tutors and monitoring progress through liasing with both clients and tutors.
Also tutor teaching business French either to groups or on a one to one basis at companies such as Goldman Sachs, Total, Kingfisher, Etam, BHP, Standard and Poor’s, Seagram and EBRD.
French tutor for ‘le Francais Professionnel’ course at City Lit Institute and also the ‘Language for Business’ course at the University of Westminster.
Work includes carrying out initial assessments and subsequent progress reports, preparing students for commercial French language examinations and designing and selecting material in accordance with clients’ needs and abilities.

Acting as UK based supervisor for foreign trainees on behalf of French training companies.
1989 to 1994 Manager of vocational training company in Aix en Provence. Full
responsibility for the South East region, which included three centres employing twenty-five full time and sixty part time tutors engaged in training more than four hundred teenagers and adults annually.
Fully responsible for submitting training programmes in response to calls for proposals and obtaining government or private funding for training schemes.
Also liased with job centres and human resource departments with regard to skills required, designed training schemes and recruited tutors accordingly, reported on trainees’ progress and thereafter placed trainees in full time employment or work experience programmes.
Also responsible for reporting on a regular basis to head office in Paris and presenting annual report to the board of the company.
Other activities connected with vocational training included being a member of the Board of ‘Mission Locale’, (the French equivalent of T.E.C.), a member of the Regional Committee for Education (the French equivalent of C.B.I for Chairmen of training companies) and a member of a University Student Guidance Group for students studying Educational Sciences.
